Our client, an electricity producer, consulted us for a lifting operation involving a new fuel container in a nuclear power plant. This was to prevent operators from climbing onto a sliding cylinder to hook the load.

Sapem has developed an automatic spreader, integrating safety devices to prevent any accidental opening of the clamps which grip the container, particularly in seismic conditions.

The simplicity and ease of use of this equipment have greatly contributed to operator safety. Additionally, the all-mechanical design made the equipment insensitive to electromagnetic pulses, enhancing its reliability.
